G3 Art- Unit 1- Changing Everyday Objects

We learned how artists change everyday objects to make them more interesting.  We tried changing the shape, size, color, and uses of objects to make our own art.  We transformed a paperclip, balloon holder or pencil holder into something from our imagination to create an artwork.

G3 Art- Unit 2- Metaphors

We explored how artists use metaphors to get creative ideas.  We learned to write our own metaphors for different objects and for ourselves.  We used value (lightness and darkness of a color) and pastels to add color.

G3 Art- Unit 3- Body Art

We inquired into the different kinds of body art around the world.  We learned about the functions of body paint, tattoos, body shaping, and piercing/ornamentation.  Some Mums came to class and taught us about Henna body art.  We made symbols for fashion about our families and friends to express ourselves.
